The appointment will be on UCL Grade 9. The salary range will be £52,279 – £62,283 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The Associate Director (Student Partnerships) is the senior professional services member of the OVPESA team with responsibility for ensuring that student feedback and priorities underpin UCL’s decision-making and are acted on centrally. You’ll work alongside the Pro-Vice-Provost (Student Experience) to deliver on Objective 4 of the Education Strategy (building a culture of partnership between staff and students across the university), including by acting as Project Lead for a number of high-profile activities. You’ll have responsibility for UCL’s institution-wide surveys and their expansion, as well as for our relationship with Students’ Union UCL. You’ll also build strong networks within faculties and departments to learn how best institutional frameworks can support the establishment of excellent local relationships within faculties.
This 12 month Maternity cover role requires a senior leader with expertise in developing policy and then making change happen.
Work collaboratively with teams from across the institution in support of our objectives. You’ll also be a skilled people manager, able to bring out the best of individuals working in small teams. This is a varied and high-profile role for an individual seeking considerable autonomy and the chance to drive change on behalf of our student body, at a crucial time for UCL’s education agenda.
Specifically, during the maternity cover period, you will be responsible for; Driving forward the Harmonising Module Evaluation Project, engaging staff and students in the project and overseeing the early stages of the roll out of the new system.
Embedding the use of the recently developed Student Priorities Action Tracker, ensuring it is updated and governed through the relevant committees and disseminated amongst senior and locally-based staff Continuing to implement the recommendations of the Student Voice Project, developing and rolling out resources, training and guidance for staff and students.
Continuing to manage the partnership with the Students’ Union, supporting outgoing/incoming Sabbatical Teams and contributing to SU-led initiatives such as Student Academic Representatives.
Continue to build the Student Engagement Steering Group as the key forum for bringing together student partnership activity across Student Academic Representatives, Student Quality Reviewers and UCL ChangeMakers. As part of this work, reviewing the Student Engagement objectives at the end of the Academic Year and aligning them with the next iteration of the Education Strategy.
Ensuring the Student Partnerships Team is meeting the needs of the institution in providing useful insightful student feedback data that can be used for decision-making processes and reviewing report formats, cycles and engagement with results on an ongoing basis.
