You will be making a big impact in providing professional development to a diverse range of people.What we do:Our Competency Centre data function will be responsible for the delivery of all onshore data audit support activities. This will include, but not be limited to:Complex, time-pressured requests that cannot be sent to our offshore Service Delivery Centre (SDC) teamsSupporting SDC teams with complex requests that can be sent offshoreBespoke General Ledger transaction flow analytics (e.g. using our internally developed ‘Revenue CAATs’ toolkit)Data reconciliationsReperformance and review of complex models and calculationsAudit insightsDetailed subledger testingPresenting findings & deliverables in form of written reports, presentations and DashboardsWe will work across clients, engagement teams and SDCs to ensure high quality delivery of a range of analytics on our external audits. This will expand to include work where similar capabilities are required as part of certain Risk Assurance propositions (e.g. Internal Audit). Over time, the team will be part of an evolution in our scope of activities, as we work to standardise, offshore and automate existing activities, all while exploring new activities to embrace a fully data-enabled audit approach.The Role:The Supervisor role will play a major part in ensuring the overall quality of work delivered by the data team. There will be a strong focus on challenging the status quo and developing a team through strong leadership, coaching and mentoring.As a Supervisor/Senior Associate within the Competency Centre data team you will:Be a coach and mentor to those performing data auditing activities, helping them build core auditing, analytics and professional skills;Review all work performed by the processing team, in line with technical requirements and operating procedures;Be predominantly office-based, and while some travel may be required, you will be expected to conduct the majority of client and engagement team interactions virtually;Be actively involved in more complex/judgemental pieces of work, such as bespoke analytics engagements, working closely with front-line delivery teams to help define and deliver the desired scope of work;Work closely with Data Acquisition specialists and/or act as a Data Acquisition Super User as part of a Global strategy to help clients extract the right data from their systems for the whole engagement;Build and maintain strong working relationships with both clients and front-line delivery teams, to enable high quality delivery; andDrive continuing innovation in how we deliver the audit in these areas, including identifying opportunities for greater standardisation, automation and, where appropriate, utilisation of offshore delivery teams.Essential Skills/Experience:Clear technical ability in at least one of the below key tools/softwares:
Ability to supervise, coach and support a team of people from diverse backgrounds, with demonstrable experience in leading junior team membersUnderstanding of the audit processAbility to work across a wide range of engagements/clients at one time, with demonstrable track record of managing project delivery and project teamsGood written and oral communication skills, particularly when working as part of a virtual teamStrong “customer service” mindsetStrong analytical skills and organisational abilitiesDesirable skills/Experience:Experience of working with offshore (SDC) teamsAdditional experience with other scripting languages or data transformation, manipulation and visualisation tools (e.g. R, Python, Google Apps Scripts/Java, Tableau)Completion of, or working towards completion of, relevant accounting qualification (those on a training contract will be supported to complete the qualification)Diversity in how we recruit is incredibly important to us – this role will be considered on a part-time basis along with flexibility on working hours.With minimal travel for this role and the offer of flexible working options, alongside a competitive salary there’s never been a better reason to discover a job you love.
