Data Architect Part time, job-share or full time
Our CEO Tulsi Naidu has been quoted saying ‘data is the new oil’
Data is critical to driving improved operational performance and feeding the strategic analytics insight we develop. At Zurich P&C we have a Texas sized data well, in fact we’ve more than 13 billion rows of policy data and over 11 million claims records at our finger tips, just waiting for you to mine.
Are you truly passionate about data? Do you have the ability to think strategically and be prepared to challenge how things get done? If you’re answering yes, then you could become one of our new data architects and shape the future of our organisation.
As of one of our data architects, you’ll be responsible for helping set our strategic data direction, designing new data solutions and ensuring we spend our money doing the right things at the right time.
Data Architecture and Analytics, DAA, are an industry award-winning team responsible for our data. We’re connected to almost every part of our business and responsible for the end to end data lifecycle; this means sourcing the right data from our many business systems, through to making it available to end users and other systems to consume.
We’re now investing in a new strategic data asset that will consolidate all of Zurich’s data in one place.
We’re using the latest technology to deliver dynamic self-service dashboards and visualisations to our business leaders allowing them to make faster, more informed decisions. Essentially, we use data to support and enable innovation.
This role is available full-time, as a job-share, or part-time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.
As a data architect you’ll be leading on a wide range of activities across the UK:
You’ll be developing our data strategy and overall roadmap to get there, including the key metrics that demonstrate progress
You’ll be supporting and challenging projects on what they need to be doing with data, developing options balancing short term tactical versus strategic choices is a common theme
As a subject matter expert, you’ll be providing advice and advisory expertise on all things data, whilst ensuring we comply with UK and Group policies.
You’ll also help define these as one of our experts in the field
We’re passionate about shared experiences and encouraging personal development so as part of this, you’ll be supporting and coaching other members of the DAA architecture team.
Your skills and experience:
Passionate about technology, you’ll have an analytical and enquiring mind with the ability think critically.
You’ll have an appreciation of what’s involved in developing a target state and a roadmap to get there
A natural at “selling” the data story to a wide variety of business users at all levels across the organisation, you’ll interpret data and share with a diverse audience
While we’d love to find a data architect “Unicorn” we know they don’t really exist – what’s important is your desire to immerse yourself in data and continually learn new things .
Your ability to take people on a journey using the richness our data provides will be one of your many skill sets.
