KEEN London is a small but growing charity. Our vision is that every child has the chance to enjoy sports and leisure activities and none are left behind due to disability. Demand for our service is high: currently over 100 families across London are members of the KEEN family and we provide over 6,000 hours of supported care every year to disabled children. As part of a small team, you have the chance to make a real difference to the lives of disabled children.
Every week, in term time, children and young people (‘athletes’) attend a 2 hour KEEN London sports and games session and are supported 1:1 by our team of volunteer coaches. These children have a wide range of disabilities and additional needs and currently approximately 70% are autistic and/or have a learning disability. As the Coordinator you will have overall responsibility for the planning and delivery of these sessions, working directly with our athletes and their families and supervising a paid session leader and a team of volunteer coaches. You will also be responsible for delivering our ‘New Experiences’ project, planning 1 offsite trip each term guided by input from athletes.
We are recruiting for 2 positions – North London Coordinator and South London Coordinator.
North London (Tufnell Park) – We deliver 2 sessions every Sunday (AM: Ages 5-12 and PM: Ages 13-25)
South London (Vauxhall) – We deliver 1 session every Saturday (AM: Ages 5-13)
Both positions will be based at our office in Manor House during the week.
Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (21 hours) including Saturday 9am-1.30pm (SOUTH) or Sunday 9am-4.30pm (NORTH) during term time. Although some flexibility will be allowed, the remaining hours will normally be worked on Monday and Friday. Working days may change during school holiday periods.
