Systems thinking at Camden means taking an approach which starts with finding out what matters to our customers – the residents, businesses and visitors of Camden and enables us to redesign services to meet their particular needs.
As part of this, we have redefined our purpose as a landlord based on what residents are asking for; ultimately we will be providing this new service to a third of Camden’s residents living in 33,000 homes using a new set of operating principles.
To kick-start this highly sought service, we have a number of exciting opportunities across Camden for Neighbourhood Housing Officers.
Providing a frontline, trusted service to our residents this role is pivotal to help our citizens living in Camden’s homes to have secure, safe and affordable housing that meets their ongoing needs and provide help and assistance to them when they need it.
Keeping the residents at the heart of the service provision, Landlord Services will be driven by delivering what matters to our residents, whilst embodying systems thinking principles ensuring the best outcomes. Working individually and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be requi red to work effectively with residents, understanding their needs, and a range of other stakeholders ensuring service delivery across Camden’s Landlord Services.
The Neighbourhood Housing Officer is empowered to unpick the root causes of an issue and build resilience. You will continually monitor, evaluate, and drive the direction of the work of the service in conjunction with colleagues to manage trends and patterns in resident demands and system barriers that need to be unblocked to improve customer outcomes. This role will balance frontline reactive and proactive case work to those residents living in our properties (approximately one third of our borough’s population). This role will also influence and drive forward continuing change both operationally and strategically, co-designing a service to meet those needs and community priorities as these change.
You will need to have already or the ability to develop the skills, knowledge and expertise to meet resident demands across a range of disciplines for example: money, debt and budgeting, employment and skills, health and support, resolving disputes, tenancy law and housing options.
Alongside this, you will possess a strong intuition within the neighbour housing arena giving you the ability to listen to and understand resident demands, sensitively working to identify relevant contextual issues that may not necessarily apparent from the presenting demand.
With excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, you will develop and maintain relationships with residents and a range of stakeholders, providing a flexible approach to individual needs and more effectively delivery.
