One of the UK’s most inspiring and best known faith-based organisations, The Salvation Army, is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join them as Referrals Officers. You will be the first point of contact for individuals making a referral to, or enquiries of, our Adult Victims of Modern Slavery Care and Coordination Service. This key role is fundamental to ensuring a high quality response to callers, 24 hours per day, 365 days of the year, in a fast-paced environment.
As a Referrals Officer you will be required to respond to referrals made to the confidential 24 hour Modern Slavery Referral Helpline and assess eligibility to the victim care service. You will do this by undertaking comprehensive risk and initial needs-based assessments via telephone, or occasionally face to face, and the allocation of clients to appropriate service providers across England and Wales. The Salvation Army is prime contractor for the Adult Victims of Modern Slavery Care and Coordination Services Contract and this role is office based and forms part of the Contract Management Team.
To join us as a Referrals Officer you will need to be highly skilled in decision-making and eliciting relevant information from potential service users who may present in a state of trauma. You will also be:
Experienced in conducting risk and needs based assessments, with the aid of interpreters where necessary, to determine eligibility against specific criteria
Educated to A-level standard or have demonstrable relevant experience.
Competent in the use of Microsoft Word and have experience of using a Case Management System.
This role is made up of four 7 hour shifts (excluding lunch breaks) in a shift cycle running Monday to Sunday. Shifts operate 24 hours per day on weekdays, weekends and Bank Holidays.
