Key Responsibilities

• Use your plant knowledge to advise customers confidently on plant selection, care and maintenance.
• Ensure excellent standards of plant care across the department, including watering, pruning and general maintenance.
• Support with stock management, ordering and availability.
• Maintain attractive, commercial displays that showcase the plant range and help drive sales.
• Help develop and motivate the team, sharing your horticultural knowledge and leading from the front.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong practical plant and horticultural knowledge.
• Previous experience working within a garden centre, nursery or similar horticultural environment.
• Experience supervising, leading or supporting a team.
• A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in the day-to-day running of the department.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of what makes a successful plant area.
• Flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays as part of the garden centre rota.

This could suit an experienced Plant Area Supervisor, Plant Area Team Leader or someone currently working in a senior horticultural position who is ready for their next step.
