AWS is hiring a Senior Manager for our Solutions Architects in the Telco Industry Vertical. We are seeking an individual with deep experience in the telecommunications sector to lead a team of customer-facing Solutions Architects. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in telecom networks, both wireless and wireline, and a strong background in OSS/BSS, service platforms, software engineering, and system integration. You will coach, grow, and partner with technically skilled, customer-facing Solutions Architects, enabling them to deliver cutting-edge cloud-based solutions to our telecom customers.

Key job responsibilities
Lead a team of Solutions Architects specializing in telecom, focusing on cloud solutions for Communication Service Providers, ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability.
Develop strategies for integrating AWS cloud services with existing telecom OSS/BSS environments, service platforms, and network architectures.
Drive AWS market penetration in the telecom industry by leveraging your deep understanding of wireless technologies (5G/LTE), wireline infrastructure, and the evolving landscape of network virtualization (SDN/NFV).
Collaborate with telecom customers to architect and support the deployment of Service Delivery Platforms on AWS, ensuring alignment with industry standards and practices.
Facilitate the cloud transformation journey for telecom operators, focusing on the migration of legacy systems to cloud-native solutions.
Provide thought leadership in the adoption of next-generation telecom technologies, including IoT, edge computing, and network slicing, on the AWS platform.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team, particularly in areas such as DevOps, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices in a telecom context.
Engage with senior-level stakeholders within customer accounts, advocating for the transformational capabilities of AWS in the telecom industry.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Management experience with technical, enterprise customer-facing resources, preferably in the telecom sector.
Strong understanding of telecom network architectures, both wireless and wireline, and familiarity with industry standards (3GPP, ITU).
Proven track record in software engineering, system integration, and deploying large-scale telecom solutions.
Experience with OSS/BSS systems, and understanding of the challenges involved in the digital transformation of telecom service providers.
Experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking, with a focus on telecom networks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.
Experience architecting and operating cloud-based solutions, with a preference for AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise.
Demonstrated experience in migrating or transforming legacy telecom solutions to the cloud.
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them to the unique environment of telecom services.
Excellent presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers within the telecom industry.
Prior experience leading teams in technology, software sales, or pre-sales consulting, specifically within the telecom sector.
