TECHNICAL LEAD C#/ASP.NET – NHS Part Time

Inspire People is partnering with a NHS body to source a Technical Lead with a software development background (ideally proficient in C# or .Net), strong in SQL data and ideally with Azure (or AWS) and data modelling/data orchestration skills, to act as the organisational lead for the implementation and maintenance of new digital technologies, tools, and solutions in order to deliver an efficient, effective, and compliant Research Systems for an NHS body. This role offers flexible working, remote working and hybrid office from London, Bristol, Nottingham, Manchester and Newcastle. Basic of £58,972 to £68,525 with possible supplement of up to 20%. As the Technical Lead, you will provide technical leadership, acting as the bridge between Architects (incl 3rd parties) and internal development teams, using agile methods, cutting edge technology, and driving change via a multidisciplinary delivery team. You will help drive a modern, data driven, scalable research system essential to UK competitiveness to enhance system-wide data sharing, increase transparency, improve market intelligence, reduce unnecessary duplication, and provide greater value to the public purse.

At this role level, you will:

  • be responsible for leading the technical design of systems and services, justifying, and communicating design decisions.
  • be responsible for governance, solving complex and high risk issues or delivering architecture design.
  • work closely with developers when designing appropriate solutions.
  • assure other services and system quality, ensuring the technical work fits into the broader strategy
  • undertake structured analysis of technical issues, translating this analysis into technical designs that describe a solution.
  • be consulted about design and provide design patterns.
  • identify deeper issues that need fixing.
  • look for opportunities to collaborate and reuse components, communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • network and communicate with senior stakeholders across organisations.
  • support multiple teams, finding and using best practice and emerging technologies.

The key skills needed for the Technical Lead role are:

  • Communicating between the technical and non-technical
  • Governance and assurance.
  • Turning business problems into technical design.
  • Work with business and technology stakeholders to translate business problems into technical designs.
  • Skilled in C or .Net
  • Knowledge of enterprise level database software including Microsoft SQL Server
  • Significant experience in design and modelling of complex data or applications, and demonstrable experience in designing database architecture in a complex environment to include experience in the development and maintenance of mid-sized >100GB databases.
