The agency
We’re a very successful and fast-growing media planning & buying agency based in Manchester City Centre, and an integral part of the Total Media Group. We work with some of the highest profile advertisers in the UK, and a key aspect of our offering to clients is our ability to evaluate and forecast the performance of their advertising campaigns, across the full spectrum of media-TV, digital, radio, out-of-home, and more.
The team
There are 23 friendly faces in our Manchester office (with no unfriendly ones!), and we’re a tight-knit and mutually supportive team. We work closely across a range of different clients in multiple business sectors, so no day is ever the same, with learning opportunities both constant and plentiful! With most of us local to the City Centre, we have a brilliant ‘Back to Office’ culture and so you’ll find us working together in person most days.
The role
We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for the position of Account Director – Media Planning at Running Total Media! As the Account Director – you will be part of the Planning Team who are the primary contacts and main conduits between our clients and the wider agency. The role involves leading the team in understanding client business and their needs, to help demonstrate how Running Total can really help improve their marketing effectiveness and deliver against business objectives.
They oversee conversations with clients on media channels and wider Total Media agency tools and services and are responsible for leading our approach to measurement across their portfolio. Key responsibilities include:
Key Requirements of the role:
Account management: Confidence in leading a client’s account, setting up ways of working and understanding and communicating a client’s business challenges.
Channel knowledge: Good knowledge of all media channels and how they can be used to deliver effective media strategies for clients.
Finance & Admin: Competence in and understanding of agency accounting processes.
Communications planning: Ability to develop communications planning frameworks and media / strategic imperatives for clients.
Campaign management: Good knowledge of TGI, Touchpoints, AdIntel and other planning tools used to deliver high quality client insights and media planning.
Communication: Develop strong working relationships with clients and colleagues, with an emphasis on collaboration both internally and externally.
Reporting, analysis and insight: Good understanding of effectiveness approaches and methodologies to be able to advise clients on.
Line management: Able to provide a flexible management style based on specific situations.
Agency knowledge: Good level of understanding of our effectiveness proposition, able to articulate to our clients and agency partners.
