Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) – Older Adults – Ongoing

We are currently seeking a Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) with experience in community care for older adults, ready for a new professional challenge.

Here are some key details about the position:

• Job Role: Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) – Older Adults
• Band: 6
• Location: North Tyne side General Hospital
• Department: MHSOP – Community Nursing Team
• Duration: Ongoing, 3 months initially
• Hours:Full Time – Monday – Friday (fewer days may be considered)
• Start date: As soon as possible
• Rate of pay: 25+ per hour

A day in the life of a CPN:

As a mental health nurse specializing in the community, you will play a crucial role in providing care to older adult patients by:

• Conducting visits to patients to ensure their needs are met.
• Administering medication at scheduled times to address patients’ needs.
• Engaging with patients, understanding their conditions, and providing efficient assistance while monitoring potential improvements or setbacks.
• Performing necessary risk assessments to ensure patient safety and maintaining a secure treatment environment.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Active registration with the NMC as a mental health nurse
• Proven minimum 2 years of experience in a community setting especially in Older Adults Team
• Enhanced DBS on the update Service
• Right to work (No Sponsorships Provided)
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work under pressure
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Dedication to delivering the highest quality of care to patients
