We are seeking a reliable and dedicated individual to join our team as a College Caretaker. The caretaker will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall well-being of the college premises. This role involves a variety of tasks to create a safe and pleasant environment for students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Perform daily cleaning tasks to maintain the cleanliness of classrooms, corridors, restrooms, and common areas.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues to the appropriate department for timely resolution.
- Security and Safety:
- Ensure that all entry and exit points are secure during and after working hours.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential safety hazards and report them promptly.
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures.
- Event Support:
- Assist in setting up and cleaning up after events, meetings, and functions held on the college premises.
- Collaborate with event organizers to meet specific setup requirements.
- Groundskeeping:
- Maintain outdoor areas, including sidewalks, parking lots, and green spaces.
- Assist with snow removal and salting during inclement weather.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with college staff and faculty regarding maintenance needs and issues.
- Work closely with the facilities management team to address and resolve concerns.
Working Hours:
- Monday: 16:30 – 21:00 (4.5 hours)
- Tuesday: 17:00 – 22:00 (5 hours)
- Wednesday: 16:00 – 21:30 (5.5 hours)
- Thursday: 17:00 – 22:00 (5 hours)
- Friday: 16:30 – 19:00 (2.5 hours)
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in custodial or caretaking roles is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
