Position: Early Years Content Writer

Location: Homebased, UK

Hours: 37 Hours per week

Salary: £30,000

Contract: Permanent

The Role

As Content Writer you will develop a range of content including blogs, short eLearning material and videos, for the Institute of Early Years Education on best practices relating to early care and education. You will develop such content in line with the mission and strategy of the Institute, and work collaboratively with others to ensure this content promotes quality in early care and education provision.

Responsibilities will include:

• Working with the Head of Early Years develop early years practice content, based on pedagogical research, in line with the Institute of Early Years Education mission and strategy
• Develop content that facilitates practitioners to champion learning through innovative, practical and creative ways
• Develop product descriptions to promote products and services
• Assure all-around consistency within brand guidelines for textual styles, pictures, fonts and tones within the content and in adherence with copywrite legislation
• Support with the peer review and evaluation of content, and make recommendations on improvement to address identified sector needs, developing solutions that provide practical support
• Create content pieces that appeal to our audiences, attract new and retain existing Institute members, and boost brand awareness via a range of channels such as blogs, videos and short learning bites
• Provide advice and support to practitioners via the learning management system, newsletters, briefing papers, forums and events, and contribute to the development of content for these purposes
• Deliver own key performance objectives to support the achievement of the department and overall organisational objectives
• Maintain practical experiences and professional knowledge and skills of the early years sector within a childcare and education setting though work shadowing/setting visits and personal development programme

About You

As Content Writer you will have demonstrable experience of working in early years, leading practise as an early years practitioner or trainer.

Your experience:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in early years
• Significant demonstrable experience as an early years content writer or copywriter
• Using sound research-based evidence to develop written material
• Sound experience of delivering/leading early years education in line with early years curriculum
• Strong customer service or related experience
• Product development and review from entry to graduate level
• Peer reviewing existing content to ensure relevance to audience needs
