You will attract a salary of 58,229.00 and a bonus of 3%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) – 3 days in the office and 2 remote

Job Purpose:
The Control System Integration Analyst works within the Control Systems and Automation team to develop integration solutions for all partners focusing on our Smart Meter system. A modern electricity distribution control system is a fundamental part of the management of the electricity distribution network, and associated to that is a vast amount of operational and telemetered data, which can all be used to manage the daily operation of the business, improve performance improvements to help keep the lights on, and allowing the organisation to meet its regulatory requirements and to drive continual improvement through innovation.
We are looking for someone who is familiar OT systems integration and has working with operational data and relational databases. The ability to visualise a data landscape is key, and from that, along with data manipulation and analytic skills take problems presented by the business and create solutions using the data available.

Principal Accountabilities:
Nature and scope:
The Smart Metering Systems Engineer reports to the Control Systems Data Solutions Manager within the Control Systems and Automation team. The Control Systems and Automation team are dedicated to making UK Power Networks Control Systems world class.
The team goal is to improve safety, application performance, innovation, data accuracy and usability with a view to reduce CI’s and CML’s whilst maximising return on investment. Important to this is providing a Control System solution including the Smart Metering System and service that is accessible and beneficial to the entire business.
EnergyIP is the UK Power Networks solution to the receive Smart Meter data where this role is one of the key users of this system and is responsible for system integration, management and configuration for the benefit of all areas of the business.
Under the Smart Energy Code requirements, UK Power Networks has an obligation under its operating license to ensure the system operates to a high level of security which includes the generation and management of Security Certificate keys exchanged between the DCC, smart meters and EnergyIP, therefore you will identify any issues reported by EnergyIP and reporting these to the IS Security Team for a resolution. Any incidents raised by the DCC related to EnergyIP functions will be the responsibility of you to resolve and similarly include incidents raised by UKPN submitted to the DCC. You will have access to the DCC SharePoint site to manage the incidents reported between all parties.
UK Power Networks submits each month to the DCC, levels of Anomaly detection thresholds. The purpose of this is to ensure that the DCC can set a benchmark for the amount of data UKPN anticipates will be sending to DCC, and in the event of a breach of this level, the DCC can take appropriate action to intercept and stop messages until confirmation is received from UKPN that the breach is known and is not a DDOS attack on the smart metering infrastructure.

Qualifications:
You will have experience of OT systems integration and in interrogating operational relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server, using SQL techniques to transform data to deliver requirements.
The ability to interact with partners across the business and interpret problem statements is important, and a desire to learn about the electricity distribution industry and can demonstrate a high level of initiative and commitment towards safety and meeting business targets.
