This is an exciting opportunity for you to develop as part of a small, tight knit team which covers the area of the City of London and works with services and organisations across the country. We’re a generic social care team which covers MASH and the full range of cases including Child in Need, Children with Disabilities, Looked After Children/Care Leavers, Private fostering, and Court work. This means that you will supervise, and line manage a child/young person and family’s case for the entirety of their involvement in our service, allowing you to impact and form deep and meaningful relationships.

This role requires a relentless focus on supporting and improving the performance of the workforce, and an understanding of effective methodologies, approaches and frameworks that enable this.
Responsibilities of the role
The Deputy Team Manager is a key leadership role, within Children’s Social Care. As the Deputy Manager you will be expected to demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the team. The team comprises of 3 senior social workers, 4 social workers and administrative staff. Your focus will be on ensuring your team feels equipped, supported, and motivated to embed a positive team culture with a commitment to outstanding practices. Managing the operational effectiveness of the team will include allocating and prioritising work, and ensuring that case records, assessments, reviews and plans for all children and families are maintained in line with practice standards, policy, and legislation. Regular and ongoing case work supervision and audits are undertaken to improve outcomes for children, young people, and families. You will also be expected to ensure that a CYP/families voice and feedback is captured in the work of social workers.
