Salary: £28,770 to £32,076 per annum (+ benefits)

The Council operates two fully serviced business centres for small and growing businesses within the District of East Cambridgeshire; e-space north, located in Littleport and e-space south, located on the Cambridgeshire Business Park in Ely.

Economic Development Officer- The Role:
The Economic Development Officer (EDO) will utilise their comprehensive range of analytical, presentation and business skills in the role. In addition, the EDO will assist the BDM to formulate and deliver a focused approach to the council’s corporate economic development plan.
Economic Development Officer- Key Responsibilities:
– You will be confident in meeting with both internal and external stakeholders
– As a first point of business contact, the EDO will be active in areas of identifying economic drivers and trends; analysis of the local landscape; investment interventions and projects linked to escalating economic growth
– With exceptional organisational skills and capable of handling multi-level projects at various stages, the EDO will, where necessary, also support delivery, running or monitoring of projects
Economic Development Officer- You:
– You will need a high-level degree or equivalent experience of working in a relevant role (public or private sector)
– You need strong influencing and facilitation skills, together with an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
– In addition, you will have a good understanding of business services, especially programmes to support business startups and SME’s to grow and innovate
– Above all you must have a real desire to make a difference by providing exceptional support to facilitate growth within the local business community
