Environmental Consultant
You will be working directly with Director and the Senior Management Team to assist project management of soil/water sampling, Construction Quality Assurance, compliance reports, and environmental permitting submissions on behalf of AAe’s Client within the waste and development sector. This involves report writing of key supporting documents, communicating with other stakeholders and engineers, site inspections and compliance audits, undertake soil and water testing, groundwater and surface water monitoring of permitted sites, and assist in updating Environmental Management System documents. The role is based in West Yorkshire but the candidate will be expected to travel to sites, if necessary. You should have a background and interest in one of the following disciplines: environmental science, geology, physical chemistry and geosciences. You must be educated to at least to degree level and be able to demonstrate good quality report writing. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to keep up to date with trends and best practice in environmental permitting. You must be able to organise self to be on time and deliver work to set timelines. As part of a Client friendly Company, you will be positive, professional and build rapport with Clients. Applicable work experience is desired.
The successful candidate will be supported and trained to perform the role. AAe will actively train the candidate building upon your existing skills. AAe invest in the continuing development of our staff and their role progression within the environmental sector.
Salary & Benefits:
• Full Time; • £25,000 – £30,000 per annum (depending on experience); • Bonus (dependent on Company performance); • 20 days holiday + bank holidays; and • Pension Scheme; • Company will cover relevant membership of a relevant professional body; • Regular internal and on the job training; • Use of company vehicles for site visits; and • Expenses and mileage claimable for site visit work (upon agreement).
Key Skills Required:
• Educated to degree level: ideally in environmental science, geology, physical chemistry and geosciences; • Minimum 2 years experience; • Attention to detail; • A ‘can do’ attitude; • A good work ethic; • Be punctual; • Good standard of report writing; • Communicate effectively; • Good use of Microsoft Excel and Word; • Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team; and • Clean UK/EU driving licence. The successful candidate will be required to travel to site and consequently must be a UK qualified driver.
