Role Overview: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterology Consultant to join our team. As a key member of the medical department, you will be responsible for providing specialized care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders and diseases. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient care and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert consultation, assessment, and management of patients with gastrointestinal conditions, including but not limited to, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and gastrointestinal malignancies.
• Perform diagnostic procedures, such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, and biopsy, to investigate and diagnose gastrointestinal disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practice guidelines and best practices, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including gastroenterology nurses, surgeons, radiologists, and oncologists, to coordinate patient care and treatment interventions.
• Participate in clinical audits, research projects, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care standards and service delivery.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to junior medical staff, contributing to their professional development and training.

Requirements:

• Medical degree from a recognized institution and GMC registration with a license to practice in the UK.
• Completion of speciality training in Gastroenterology and attainment of CCT or equivalent.
• Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated experience and expertise in the management of gastrointestinal disorders and diseases.
• Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing medical education.
