I have partnered with a leading 3PL logistic organisation to recruit a Head of Environmental & Sustainability position. This role will be leading a team of Environment Managers across a national network of operations.
Key Responsibilities for the Head of Environmental & Sustainability:
- Advise all levels of management on applicable environmental legislation ensuring the company complies with its legal obligations with regards to Environmental Regulation.
- Ensuring compliance with any environmental consents or permits
- Responsibility for the upkeep and the continuing development of the Environmental Management Strategy complying with the requirements of ISO14001.
- Carrying out environmental audits and inspections.
- Supporting customer and new business teams to understand the environmental impact of change to existing contracts and the introduction of new contracts.
- Report to the Group Board and customer meetings as required on all environmental and sustainability topics.
- Produce environmental performance reports to all levels of the business.
The Head of Environmental & Sustainability will have the following skills and experience:
- Educated to degree level with/or appropriate professional qualification such as IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management or equivalent.
- Experience in developing sustainability/environmental programs within warehousing & logistics related sectors is essential.
- Experience of EMS/ ISO14001 management system requirements and environmental legislation with ISO Auditor Qualification is essential.
- Experience with WEEE, SECR, ESOS standards and reporting.
- Experience with Carbon Disclosure requirements is essential.
- Ideally you will have experience dealing with the Environment Agency and British Safety Council 5 Environmental audit.
- Experience in wider sustainability, net zero, carbon accounting
- You will have great interpersonal, communication, presenting and influencing skills.
