Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Food Technology department, providing guidance and support to staff members
• Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that meets national standards and prepares students for further education or the workplace
• Foster a positive learning environment, ensuring that students are engaged and motivated to explore the world of food
• Oversee the planning and execution of practical cooking sessions, ensuring that students have access to high-quality ingredients and equipment
• Collaborate with other departments and professionals in the field to organize workshops, competitions, and industry visits to enhance students’ learning experience
• Monitor and assess student performance, providing feedback and support for improvement
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Food Technology education and implement innovative teaching methods to enhance the curriculum

Requirements

• Relevant degree and teaching qualification
• Proven experience teaching Food Technology at a primary or secondary level
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and inspire a team
• In-depth knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment requirements for Food Technology
• Passion for food and cooking, and a willingness to instil this passion in students
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
• Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
