Bring your whole self to work for us at NUH. We love diversity and we value your difference, your unique skills, knowledge and experience. Becoming one of our people may realise your potential, helping us to raise our performance in delivering world class healthcare to the diverse patient populations we serve. We particularly welcome applications from people who identify as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic, or Disabled, as we are currently under-represented at NUH.
Nottingham Clinical Genetics Services provide out-patient care for patients and families of all ages who are affected by a wide range of rare genetic conditions. We have a new position for a part-time healthcare assistant to support our delivery of care and smooth running of this service.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team under supervision of the team leader. Their key roles will include infection control, monitoring levels of stock for clinics and assisting clinicians with patients as an advocate or chaperone where required. We are looking for a compassionate, caring individual who has good communication skills with an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have recent experience of working in the NHS and of patient-facing work in a healthcare or social care setting.
The post-holder will be based in the main department at The Gables, Gate 3 on City Hospital Campus, where there are dedicated out-patient clinic rooms.
The post is part-time, with annualised hours of 10.5 hrs per week. Some flexibility will be expected to cover weekday out-patient clinics.
*The closing date given is a guide. We reserve the right to close the post early once we have received a sufficient number of applicants, so we advise you to submit your application early to prevent disappointment.
Please submit your application form as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as we reserve the right to close vacancies prior to the published closing date.
All communication will be via the email address you have provided. Please ensure you check your email account including your junk email regularly.
The quoted salary will be pro rata for part time workers.
All applicants who have declared a disability and meet the essential criteria will be shortlisted.

We welcome applications from individuals who require Tier 2 sponsorship in line with the Home Office regulations. NON-EEA candidates may not be appointed, if a suitably qualified and skilled EU/EEA candidate is successful at interview stage as it is unlikely that the Trust is able to satisfy the Home Office Visa requirements.
