Role: Lead Network Engineer
Salary: Up to £70,000 + Benefits
Location: Remote working (flexibility to travel to site is required)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all Network systems are monitored and available(90+ sites, 10,000+ users)
- Technical governance and design of network solutions
- Implementing policies, processes and redefining blueprints for the Network Infrastructure
- HLD/LLD network designs for change projects(New Services, Sites, Security Projects)
- Configuring and installing various network devices and services (eg Routers, Switches, Firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
- Supporting the installation of various server infrastructure devices and services (eg Servers, SAN’s, NAS’s, Nutanix, VMWare, Hyper-V and Azure Cloud Services)
- Ensure all network systems are patched, supported, maintained and updated including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
- To advise on capacity planning, monitoring performance and ensuring system availability and reliability in line with projected growth
- Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
- Ensuring all required equipment is installed and delivered across all sites as and when required
- Understanding industry trends and opportunities to influence the network technology strategy
- The documentation and maintenance of all Infrastructure systems, including network diagrams, server documentation and security configuration
- To contribute towards the writing, maintaining, and testing of a full infrastructure disaster recovery plan for all IT Infrastructure systems
Skills/Attributes Required:
- Expert level Knowledge of Networking
- Expert level knowledge and experience of SD-WAN/SASE technologies
- Expert level knowledge and experience of Zscaler or similar SSE technologies
- Expert Level Knowledge and experience of HP/Aruba LAN switching
- Expert knowledge and experience of Cisco LAN switching
- Expert Knowledge and experience of Cisco Meraki switching/Wireless
- Expert Knowledge and experience of Azure network technologie
- Extensive knowledge and experience of network security enforcement tooling eg IDS/IPS/VRF’s, ZeroTrust
- Expert knowledge and experience of Firewalls technologies
- Knowledge and experience of networking monitoring tools
- Extensive network troubleshooting skills using packet captures
- Willingness to travel and work with all IT departments
- Strong communication skills, written and oral
