When you join Amazonas an Area/Shift Manager, you’ll gain experience leading a largeand diverse team to make sure your area of the business keeps pacewith demand. In this hands-on role, you’ll learn about thecomplexity of operations at a global business and what it takes tomake everything run seamlessly. While you implement your team’sapproach to drive productivity, you’ll also work closely with yourcolleagues to address challenges, which means no two days will bethe same.
Key jobresponsibilities
– Promote a culture of safety andwellbeing
– Analyse and implement corrective actions tomake sure quality and productivity are at consistently high levels,and business objectives are met across all shifts
-Support and lead a team and handle administrative work alongsidebuilding and supporting a strong team culture
– Analyseperformance and suggest process improvements to optimise work andimprove customer service
– Collaborate with othermanagers to standardise shift processes
A dayin the life
You’ll work shifts and be based at one of ouroperational sites. Your main focus will be to maintain safetystandards within your team and across your site. You’ll alsomonitor and maintain process efficiency. Your days will alwaysinclude prioritising routine team management and daily operationaltasks, alongside other tasks like individual escalations, processimprovement work and wide-scale operational contingency planning.
Being a key part of the operations teaminvolves working with colleagues in other teams and externalpartners to make sure we stay on track to meet our customer demandsand targets. This will involve analysing data and performancemetrics with leaders in your business area, as well as discussingthe operational pros and cons of technical improvements withengineers.

There are different teams within the Amazonoperations model. As a graduate Area/Shift manager you could beplaced within one of these teams:
• The CustomerFulfiilment (CF) team are the first people in the chain that helpscustomers get products at the speed we’re known for. Based inFulfilment Centres, which are at the heart of Amazon’s fast-pacedOperations network. Our centres are sometimes referred to as the’First Mile’ because it’s where most Amazon packages start theirjourney. The CF help to manage dynamic inventory and facilitatespeedy deliveries round the clock.
• Amazon couldn’tdeliver at pace without the Amazon Transportation Service (ATS)team. Using air, sea and road transport, as well as sortationcentres equipped with the latest technology, you’ll help Amazon’stransport run at maximum efficiency. ATS analsyes data and uses theexpertise of our people to get packages to their destination -quickly, conveniently and sustainably.
• AmazonLogistics, or AMZL, handles ‘last mile’ delivery duties inpartnership with third-party distribution businesses. Utilisingcreative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to getmillions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Thegoal is to make our customers’ delivery experience as smooth aspossible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newestconcepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and AmazonRestaurants.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS – Bachelor’sdegree (or working towards a bachelor’s degree)
-Advanced proficiency in written and verbal English
-Relevant experience in performing data analysis
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS – Experienceof communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including yourpeers and leadership
– Experience in a logisticalworking environment
– Experience working with the MSOffice suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
