At your site, you’ll lead other managers and create theoperational plan that helps your teams meet their targets. Thisrole is all about driving operational excellence to create theAmazon of tomorrow.
Key jobresponsibilities
– Manage and develop a team of AreaManagers
– Lead operational teams on a shift, deal withissues, and positively impact site performance
– Analyseshift performance against relevant business objectives, and put inplace actions to improve our operational excellence
-Work closely with other support teams, including HR, Finance,Health and Safety, and Security
– Design and deliverinitiatives across the sites to improve operationalperformance
A day in the life
You’lllead shifts at one of our operational sites. You’ll also be the keylink between a number of teams, including finance, safety andoperations integration teams. That means you’ll be close to theday-to-day operations at your site but also contribute to new waysto innovate at your site.
A typical day willinvolve meetings with different areas of the business, deep divinginto performance and risk metrics for sites, and looking ahead toprepare for different levels of demand. Every day will also involvementoring and coaching your team. You’ll be a source of leadershipand support your team to be the best managers they can be.

Customer Fulfilment,or CF, is where it all started for Amazon. CF has scaled up from ahumble team of booksellers to a sophisticated global team whichhandles more than 1.5 million orders every day. The team is thefoundation of our business and its efforts have helped us diversifyacross new regions and services. With the help of emergingtechnology, we’re always looking for ways to offer a bigger, betterproduct range – delivered quickly andaffordably.
The CF team are the first peoplein the chain that helps customers get products at the speed we’reknown for. We’re based in Fulfilment Centres, which are at theheart of Amazon’s fast-paced Operations network. Our centres aresometimes referred to as the ‘First Mile’ because it’s where mostAmazon packages start their journey. We help to manage dynamicinventory and facilitate speedy deliveries round theclock.
Lots of different people work in ourFulfilment Centres, so there are plenty of opportunities for everyskillset. Some of us work with physical products, while othersanalyse data to help everyone across the business make smartdecisions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS – A degree /equivalent
– Relevant experience in people andstakeholder management
– Relevant experience in usingdata or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
– Relevant experience in key areas of production andsupply chains
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS – Preferred qualifications are notrequired to apply for a position at Amazon. If you have all thebasic qualifications above, we’d love to hear from you.
– Experience in Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen techniques
– Experience in a similar logistical working environment
– Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite(Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
