Job Title: Mobile Plant Fitter

• Starting Salary: £35,693 – £40,000 – OTE £50,000 with overtime

Innotech Partners are collaborating with an established Plant Service company who specialise in the Service and repair of a variety of plant heavy plant equipment. They are seeking an enthusiastic Plant fitter to join them on a permanent full time basis.

If successful, you will be joining a progressive company within a team of around 70 engineers around the country. The role will be field based, with a vehicle and fuel card. The standard hours are 40 hours a week Monday – Friday and overtime is plentiful if and when you would like to pick it up.

Overtime rates:

• 1.5 x Rate: Monday – Friday, after 8 hours up until 12 hours; Saturday, first 4 hours
• 2 x Rate: Monday – Friday, after 12 hours; Saturday, after 4 hours; Sunday & Bank Holidays, all hours.

Qualifications:

Minimum NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Engineering, Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV Mechanics.

Job Skills:

• Over 5 years of relevant experience (post-apprenticeship) in repairing and maintaining Heavy Construction Plant equipment such as Bulldozers, Dump Trucks, Excavators, Graders, Loading Shovels, etc.
• Knowledge and experience with Tier 4 and 5 Engines, Regen & Adblue Systems.
• Proven Technical Competence in Diesel Engines, Regen Systems, Transmissions, Drive Lines, Hydraulics, and Electrical Systems.
• Proficient in laptop diagnostics and fault finding.
• High level of Health & Safety knowledge.
• Cost-conscious mindset for maximizing profitability.
• Competency in writing engineers reports, job cards, and asset condition reports.
• Computer literate, including emails and tablet-based maintenance systems.

Job Roles/Duties:

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on OEM branded equipment (Volvo, Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Bell) within a designated geographical area.
• Conduct inspections, local preparation, brake testing, etc.
• Order necessary parts for repairs and return any unused parts in a clean condition upon job completion.
• Assist and coach colleagues when necessary.
• Ensure accurate and punctual completion of systems/paperwork.
• Conduct work in accordance with quotations and time guides, notifying management of additional work if needed.
• Report company tool defects, use tools in line with current test periods, and adhere to instructions/training.
• Complete dynamic risk assessments and method statements before commencing any work.
