Belonging to the Offshore O&M unit and in particular to the Growth & Partnership team and reporting directly to the Head of Growth and Partnerships, the Head of Growth, Bids and New Countries leads and is responsible for the O&M team involved in the new transactions requested by the business (channelled via new markets analysis, preparation of bids/auctions, and analysis of investment opportunities by M&A transactions). He is the main point of contact towards other Iberdrola business areas, teams, and partners for the operational aspects of the offshore wind farm, being accountable for delivering and applying the Iberdrola strategy to the Project.
The Head of Growth, Bids and New Countries is responsible for planning and managing all operational aspects regarding operation and maintenance services provided to Partners, for all the transaction processes (due diligence, bid analysis, Vendor’s Q&A) in the earliest phases including reporting of financial and performance of multi-million worth transactions. This will include establishing a solid relationship with the Partner and acting as the Iberdrola representative in the SPV structure, reporting on operational inputs to Board meetings.
In particular, the role will be focused on due diligence analysis for emerging countries and new technologies solutions estimations. In addition, the individual will manage contractual & commercial risks and seek out opportunities to optimize and drive the result of the transaction. The role requires to manage elements of work with responsibility for all commercial aspects of project strategy, control and delivery ensuring value to the company is maximized within acceptable risk parameters.
What you’ll be doing
Lead negotiations of Service Contracts with key suppliers from SPR side, ensuring the project and SPR interests are aligned.
Provide support to the O&M team in the development of new offshore projects – specific procedures and policies to ensure the safe, compliant and efficient site operation of the Iberdrola Renovables Offshore portfolio.
Lead the operational analysis of M&A transactions for Offshore defining the strategy for the operational phase of the new assets.
Represent Iberdrola Renewables on Offshore specific committees and working groups.
Lead steering committees, coordinating communications between the parties and maintain the stakeholder properly informed.
Coordinate O&M teams during budget preparation and revisions.
Provide proactively recommendations and advice on OPEX management.
Responsible for development and delivery of financial and commercial reporting for stakeholders: internal and external.
Lead and coordinate advice on key commercial risks under existing OMAs, ancillary contracts or any other partnership agreement.
Together with the O&M Contracts Strategy & Cost Modelling team ensure IBR best practices and processes are implemented and applied in contract management ensuring involvement and interfacing with key company functions such as Purchasing, Insurance, Financial, Legal, etc.
Together with the O&M Contracts Strategy & Cost Modelling team, strengthen the commercial performanc e of sites across Iberdrola Renewables offshore portfolio.
What you’ll bring
High managerial or specialist capabilities, with a minimum of 10 years of experience of engaging at a senior level across the business.
Large experience managing people or high value complex external relationship in management positions.
Good organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritise a rapidly changing and wide-ranging workload.
Significant Experience in market analysis and due diligence processes in the offshore wind.
Experience in managing and developing stakeholders’ relationships. Preferably with JV or partners.
Experience in cost control in big engineering projects or accounting
Significant postgraduate experience in industry with experience in Offshore Wind .
Significant experience in commercial and contractual aspects of engineering.
Experience in Project Management.
High degree of strategic awareness and in-depth renewable market knowledge and the ability to think strategically and address short, medium and long term operational requirements by defining suitable operating objectives and strategies.
Knowledge of a diverse range of operational technology, within an industry-wide context is required . The technology, and associated operational requirements, are constantly changin g wi th increasingly technical complexity.
