Operations Director – Property Part Time

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Director within the property repairs and maintenance business unit to join our senior management team.

About the role

As the Operations Director for Property Repairs and Maintenance, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality property maintenance services. This role requires a dynamic and experienced professional with a proven track record in operations management within the property maintenance sector.

The role holder will have direct line management for all Heads of Service within the hard FM business unit and play a key part in driving service growth through effective business development. They will also use their extensive experience to carry out client and stakeholder engagement, resource management including (effective people management processes), and compliance and risk management.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement strategic vision for the property repairs and maintenance division in alignment with the group’s goals and objectives.
• Identify opportunities for business growth and operational improvements.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the responsive repairs services, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
• Implement best practices to optimise service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a large team, including property managers, maintenance staff, and administrative professionals.
• Foster a positive and collaborative working environment, encouraging professional development and continuous improvement within the hard FM business unit.
• Cultivate strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders in the social housing and commercial sectors.
• Ensure effective communication and responsiveness to client needs and concerns.
• Collaborate with the Director of Operations with developing and managing budgets for the Property division, ensuring financial sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
• Optimise resource allocation to meet operational demands.
• Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to guarantee the highest standards of workmanship and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks associated with property management and repairs.
• Stay informed about industry trends and changes in regulations affecting property operations.
• Address client concerns and ensure effective communication to maintain positive relationships.
• Workforce planning and effective people management including but not limited to recruitment processes, training and development, coaching, succession planning, performance management.
• Strategic leadership of the full supply chain management.
• Leading on fostering a positive and inclusive culture, embedding our values.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Degree in Property Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

• Extensive experience at senior leadership level in property maintenance and compliance management, ideally within the social housing sector.
• Proven leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing multi-disciplinary teams within the sector.
• Expert communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels including to executive leaders.
• Financially astute with a prove ability to effectively manage resources.
