Major Recruitment have an exciting opportunity on behalf of our client based in Coventry, a leading and dynamic modular building manufacturer who are at the cutting edge of sustainable housing solutions. They are looking to recruit an experienced Plumber to provide labour and support on the factory floor in the production of modular housing units.

Key Responsibilities of a Plumber:

• Repair or replace external cold-water gutter and drainage systems.

• Install, repair, or replace hot and cold-water supplies, including baths, sinks and showers.

• Locate and repair hot and cold-water bursts.

• Excavate ground to repair external cold-water supplies and drainage systems.

• Trace, diagnose and identify faults on hot and cold-water systems.

• Carry out a programmed maintenance and servicing in domestic and commercial premises.

• Trace, diagnose and rectify faults.

• Carry out routine and safety faults.

• Maintain replenish vehicle impress stock.

• Drive and be responsible for a Company Vehicle within department regulations/instructions

• Complete all necessary associated work documentation.

• Obtain Client’s signatures for completed work.

• Liaise with clients/customers when arranging and carrying out work, having full regard to their needs.

• Work from verbal and written instructions, including drawings, diagrams, sketches, calculations using measuring equipment where appropriate.

• Asses, plan and request parts and materials required to carry out the work.

• Report to Team Leader / Contract Leader any faulty appliances installations or equipment which do not comply with the current safety regulations.

• Operate all machinery and equipment in a safe manner on completion of work

• Look after tools, materials, and equipment guarding against loss or theft and making them ready for use when required.

• Report finding asbestos through the Department’s Asbestos Procedure.

• Supervise and control apprentices, educating them to the standards expected by the department, ensuring they work in a safe and efficient manner.

• To carry out appropriate alternative work as and when required.

• To record and document work activities/deliveries.

Skills required to be a Plumber:

• Must possess a valid full UK Driving Licence
• Must be prepared to work anywhere that the client or its agents require.
• The post holder must be prepared to comply with all the client’s policies.
• Must be prepared to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and work in confined spaces and in a variety or work conditions that may prevail at that time.
• Must posses a full, well maintained tool kit always.
• Must be able to establish and maintain good customer service involving working outside normal hours as and when required.
• Must be prepared to undertake any additional training associated with the specific requirements of the trade, as well training in Equal Opportunities
• The ability to work with the minimum of supervision and as part of a team. The post holder may be required to work in any location throughout the contract and work may vary from location to location.
• Clocking in and out daily
• Wearing safety boots and PPE
• Completion of weekly timesheets
