Pre-Litigation Paralegal – RTA & HDR Part Time

Overview:

Located in Central Blackburn, is renowned for its expertise in handling Road Traffic Accidents (RTA) and Housing Disrepair (HDR) cases. We are seeking two dedicated Pre-Litigation Paralegals, one specializing in RTA and the other in HDR, to join the dynamic legal team. These roles are pivotal in managing cases from inception through to the point of litigation, providing comprehensive support to the solicitors and ensuring our clients receive the highest standard of service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initial Case Assessment: Conduct thorough initial reviews and assessments of new cases.
• Case Management: Oversee case files from inception to litigation readiness, ensuring all preparatory work is complete and documentation is accurate.
• Client Liaison: Maintain regular communication with clients, updating them on case progress and gathering additional information as needed.
• Negotiation: Engage with third parties, including insurance companies for RTA and landlords or housing authorities for HDR, to negotiate settlements.
• Documentation: Prepare a range of legal documents such as claim forms, letters of advice, and court documents, under solicitor guidance.
• Research: Perform legal research to aid case strategy and preparation.
• Compliance: Ensure all activities are compliant with legal, regulatory, and firm standards.

Requirements:

• A Law degree or equivalent legal qualification is preffered
• Demonstrated experience in managing pre-litigation stages of either RTA or HDR cases, with a preference for candidates who have specialized in one of these areas.
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in relevant legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
• Commitment to high-quality legal service delivery with a focus on client satisfaction.
