Principal ScientistLancashire – commutable from Blackburn, Burnley, Skipton, KeighleyPermanent 100% site based – 40 hrs per week, Monday – FridaySalary is £50,000 – £73,500 per annum, plus benefits DOEThe Principal Scientist is required to be a subject matter expert in Extractable & Leachable and trace analysis. They provide support, guidance and technical know-how to the Scientific Development team. They need to have excellent analytical chemistry skills and advanced problem-solving abilities. They will act as a mentor and support the progression of the scientists within the team.The successful candidate for the Principal Scientist role will:• Act as a technical lead/ SME for method development and validation activities• Subject matter expert in Extractable & Leachable and trace analysis• Perform technical reviews of method development and validation documentation• Arrange client visits and take part in coordinating technical review meetings. Document meetings minutes effectively and coordinate completion of actions.• Provide training and guidance for the scientific development team to support their growth• Develop best practices for effective and efficient method development projects• Develop business case justification for investment in new technologies• Support scientific marketing and business development activities• Contribute to client projectsThe ideal candidate for the Principal Scientist will have:• A BSc or equivalent in Chemistry or analytical Chemistry or related subject. A PhD is desirable.• Essential: At least 10 years’ method development experience in HPLC and GC.
