Job Title: Field Pump Engineer

Job Summary: As a Field Pump Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of various pump systems in the field. Your role involves working on-site, diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring optimal functionality of pump equipment. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct regular maintenance activities on pump systems, including inspections, testing, and repairs to ensure efficient operation and compliance with safety standards.
• Installation and Commissioning: Install new pump systems, configure equipment, and ensure proper functioning following installation. Conduct testing and commissioning procedures.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose pump system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to resolve mechanical, electrical, or operational problems.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and any other relevant information.
• Customer Interaction: Interact with clients or customers to understand their requirements, provide technical assistance, and offer recommendations for pump system optimisation.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations while working on-site. Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of pump systems, including centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, and related mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
• Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to analyse problems, identify faults, and implement effective solutions.
• Experience: Previous experience in a similar field, preferably in pump maintenance, repair, or installation.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
• Problem-solving: Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities to resolve complex pump system issues efficiently.
• Adaptability: Capability to work in diverse environments and adapt to changing work schedules based on project requirements.
• Health and Safety Awareness: Understanding and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.

Education and Certifications:

• A relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Certifications or training related to pump systems maintenance and repair are advantageous.

Working Conditions: The role involves frequent travel to various client sites, sometimes working in challenging or outdoor environments. Flexible working hours might be required based on project deadlines or emergency repairs.
