WA Consultants is currently recruiting for a few Software Developers with Python and/or Java with experience of AWS for an established but growing client based in Plymouth. Experience wise, we are looking for Mid to Senior/Tech Lead level developers.
Our client operates a hybrid working policy with the expectation of one site visit per week to their office in Plymouth.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
- Design and development
- Significant experience of working with AWS
- Assisting in the technical direction of projects
- Ensuring code quality
- Working to a project schedule
- Suggesting improvements to project team processes, tooling and techniques
- Sharing knowledge and experience with others, in particular helping customers to establish strong engineering cultures
- Some off site travel and working may be required.
Essential Skills:
- Core and Enterprise Python and/or Java including Spring
- Knowledge of developing and maintaining AWS infrastructure
- Worked with more than one programming language
- Desire to deliver outcomes for users
- Desire to mentor others
- Some full stack
- Firm grasp of SOLID principles
- TDD (Test driven development)
- RESTful Web Services
Desired Skills:
- AWS Certifications
- Software Design patterns
- Standup and presentation skills
- Agile practices such as Scrum
- GIS eg ArcGIS, GeoServer, GeoNetwork
