Quantity Surveyor
Reed Hospitality has partnered with a prestigious organisation located in Antrim to offer an exciting opportunity for an individual wishing to develop their career in construction within the aviation industry.
As a Quantity Surveyor, the successful candidate will be part of a high-performing team building future infrastructure. Reporting to the Director of Projects & Engineering, they will play a key role in the organisation’s future, supporting the planning and execution of strategically important projects within a live operational environment.
Job PurposeThe job holder will assist the Engineering team in delivering a wide range of capital and maintenance projects. Their focus will be on budgetary control and management. Additionally, they will collaborate closely with the finance team to develop and monitor both operational and capital budgets and spending.
Main Duties1. Preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tenders and contracts.2. Procurement of sub-contractors and preparation of sub-contractor order documentation.3. Managing and valuing variations.4. Assist in the production of pre-contract take-off, interim valuations and final accounts.5. Production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation on contracts.6. Support the Capital Projects Manager and Projects Director with the logistical, technical andcommercial management of the projects to meet the overall business objectives.7. Assist in the preparation and ongoing monitoring of operational and capital annual budgets.8. Assist in the ongoing development and updating of the airport’s Long Term Business Plan.9. Support the project team in the procurement, delivery, and handover of projects to achieve desired business outcomes.10. Contribute and work to the development and maintenance of a culture of excellent health, safety, and environmental standards across the projects and their associated contractors to deliver the highest levels of health, safety, and environmental performance achievable.11. Assist in the identification and mitigation of risks that may adversely impact project delivery or adversely affect airport operations through the project/programme lifecycle.12. Positively influence key stakeholders (both internal & external) associated with projects.13. Play an active part in lessons identified process across all projects and embed a culture of continuous improvement.14. Ability to work flexible hours to facilitate any out of hours activity as and when required15. Salary for the role is between £35-£40k working 37.5 hours a week, Mon – Fri 8am-4pm
