Reporting to the Product Development & Regulatory Affairs Advisor, you will be support to the Technical Services/NPD team to drive innovation and develop new and exciting products.You will have key relationships with other departments across HARIBO, as well as working closely with our external suppliers.And finally, one of our values is ‘Childlike Happiness’ so be prepared to have some fun along the way! Our mix that awaits you: Some of the key accountabilities and responsibilities of the role are;

  • Providing technical recipe solutions and development to deliver against a consumer led brief
  • Working with suppliers and wider HARIBO group to proactively identify new ingredients and recipes for future innovation
  • Working with suppliers and wider HARIBO group to proactively identify ingredient improvements for existing recipes including proactively identifying value engineering opportunities in line with business and legislative requirements
  • Responsible for liaising with Production and Planning to facilitate trials and identify optimum approach for incorporating new recipe developments into factory
  • Organising and attending new product trials and following up to ensure the desired outcome is achieved
  • Monitoring new materials and recipes during the shelf life to ensure they meet quality and micro standards throughout
  • Attending first production runs to ensure the product is to the correct standard

Ingredients that you bring with you:

  • Recipe development experience including food ingredients expertise
  • Technical food science background/expertise (specifically working with sweets industry)
  • Proven experience of working on a product concept and providing recipe recommendations for optimum delivery
  • Ability to proactively identify and escalate project risks
  • R&D project management/manage and delivery of R&D projects in line with launch timings
  • Experience of successfully implementing the technical delivery of products in line with innovation platforms
  • Understanding of working within a stage and gate process
  • Experience of working with sensory testing/consumer research and interpreting research results
  • Leading production trials and product sign off

Hours of Work:This role is 40 hours a week based at our Pontefract site, however, cross site working is essential.REF-
