The Role

You’ll become a consistent, trusted adult supporting young people with high and complex support needs.

The home supports young people with needs including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, OCD, Pica, communication difficulties and behaviours that can challenge.

Some young people may have limited awareness of risk and boundaries, require a high level of staffing support, and rely heavily on predictable routines and consistent approaches from the adults around them.

You may also support young people who are non-verbal or low-verbal, using methods such as PECS, Makaton, AAC, behaviour and body language to communicate.

The role is active and can involve sensory activities, movement-based activities, outdoor activities and periods of significant dysregulation.

You will need to remain calm, patient and consistent while helping young people regulate and maintain safety.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
• Supporting autism, learning disabilities and complex needs
• Supporting young people with limited risk awareness
• Following care plans, PBS plans and risk assessments
• Supporting young people during distress or dysregulation
• Providing consistent routines and boundaries
• Supporting non-verbal and alternative communication
• Encouraging independence, education and life skills
• Taking part in sensory, physical, outdoor and community activities
• Supporting personal care, routines and medication where required
• Safeguarding young people and maintaining professional boundaries
• Completing daily records, handovers and incident reports
• Working closely with a consistent residential team

Who We’re Looking For

You may already have experience in:

Due to the remote location of the home, a full UK driving licence is preferred.

A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is preferred, but if you don’t already hold it, SuperCare will fund it for you!

Shift Patterns

Day Shifts
7:30am – 10:30pm
1 day on, 2 days off

Waking Nights
10:00pm – 8:00am
2 nights on, 2 nights off
