The Vacancy

TBG Flex is seeking to hire a Housing Needs Officer to add to the growing team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Ensuring that Barnet Council s statutory duties towards housing applicants under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, the Housing Act 1996 Parts VI and VII and other relevant legislation are met.
• Making comprehensive and robust legal decisions under the Housing Act 1996 Parts VI and VII that will stand up to legal challenge.
• Effectively managing a caseload ensuring that cases are prioritised, and decisions are issued in a timely manner to not only reduce the risk of temporary accommodation admissions but also limit the time customers spend in temporary accommodation.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Excellent communicators who will give clear and concise advice to customers and landlords.
• Good listeners who will be empathetic when helping customers facing challenging personal circumstances.
• Team players with good attitude who can adhere to Barnet Homes core values and behaviours.
• People with great case management skills who have a legal eye for detail and who can prioritise their work in a demanding environment.
