Senior HR Adviser Part Time

If so, then come and join our Education Personnel Service, in a leading local authority where your support can help schools improve. We pride ourselves in delivering a high-quality HR Advisory and consultancy service to over 700 Hampshire and Oxfordshire schools.

Based in the historic city of Winchester, we are looking to recruit two Senior HR Advisers to our Hampshire Team. We currently have two positions available: 1 x Permanent and 1 x Temporary until 31 March 2025.

Primarily you’ll provide expert guidance and support to headteachers, senior leaders and governors directly through the management of individual employee relations casework and through our Helpdesk Service. You’ll contribute to the practical resolution of matters ensuring that employment decisions have regard to the needs of the school and take account of legislative requirements, relevant procedures, and good employment practice.

As part of our new ways of working colleagues have the flexibility of working from both the office and home, with the expectation of working in the office on average four to five times a month. In addition to managing your own caseload you will be required to support our helpdesk function on a rota basis both virtually and in the office. There is a requirement of travel to the role, and you will be expected to visit our schools in person as required.

As an organisation we ensure that you are set up with the essential IT and office equipment at home so that as a team we remain highly connected to our schools, and each other.

About You:

• You will be CIPD qualified or equivalent or have relevant experience dealing with multiple complex employee relations casework.
• You will have a pragmatic approach to solving problems, identifying risk, and recommending options with a good grounding of employment law and best practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will ensure that you have the confidence to advise, influence and critically challenge educational professionals, HR colleagues and Union representatives alike, to ensure cases are resolved successful in a timely manner.
• Excellent IT skills, time management and attention to details are essential for accurately recording customer interactions on our systems, analysing reports and monitoring customer feedback.
