Summary Have you got great customer service skills? If so, we’d love you to bring your skills to the biggest conservation charity in Europe. With engaging stories to tell, there’s always something to share with our visitors, and as part of a team that works across Leith Hill Place and Tower it is our job to make sure we’re doing just that throughout our 2024 season. This is a fixed-term contract ending on the 31st October 2024. Salary: £10.78 per hour Hours: This role is an hourly paid, fixed term role. Wherever possible we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but we’re looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. We’d give you as much notice of this as possible. What it’s like to work here We’re a small team at the beginning of an exciting re-building of our public offer here at Leith Hill Place and Tower. That means that we end up turning our hands to many things! The Tower opens to welcome visitors again in 2024 at Easter and the House, which has been shut for major renovation work, is due to re-open a month or so later. There is never a dull day here in the Surrey Hills! It is a stunningly beautiful place to work. Some days are spent solely outdoors, in all weathers, while other days could be spent inspiring people about the artworks on display in the house or pouring tea and serving delicious cakes from our volunteer café. What you’ll be doing Opening up and getting ready the Tower ready to welcome visitors. Working with the house team to prepare for visitors. Welcome and answer visitor’s questions about the house, tower, and wider estate. Working hard as part of a hard-working team. Sharing our stories and our values with everyone. You may be asked on occasions to be part of the Duty Management Rota, with responsibility for overseeing the smooth running of the House and Tower in conjunction with senior managers.
