Software Engineering Manager

Location: Manchester (hybrid working)

Salary & Benefits: Up to £70,000 + Benefits

Investigo are exclusively partnered with an industry leading utilities organisation, whom are looking for a Software Engineering Manager, to join a new team and taken them through a huge project as they move their digital operations from off-shore back in house. You’ll be responsible for leading and supporting a team of up to 10 software developers and help them carry out this large project.

As mentioned above the organisation are a leader in their sector but this opportunity is similar to a start-up with huge backing and support so being comfortable with ambiguity and autonomy will be great.

Whilst this role will involve little hands-on, you’ll work closely with cross function teams and need a great understanding of development across multiple languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, C++), developing technical road mapping, development strategies and ensuring the team are all working in unity to reach deliverable’s.

You will be working across multiple transitions from carrying out technical migrations and enhancements all the way to Greenfield development taking it from inception all the way through to delivery. Your role will also include the chance to influence the longer-term tech strategy and manage a team of software developers.

Skills

  • Developing Technical Roads Maps as they transition applications
  • Have lead teams of up to 10 software developers.
  • Strong understanding of one or more (Java, JavaScript, Python, C++)
  • Managed Software Development teams
  • Experienced working in both Agile and Waterfall environments
  • Experience reporting to Senior Stakeholders
  • Nice to have had some form of AI experience
