Job Title: Football Service OFFICER

Location: Somerset Football Association, Charles Lewin House, Glastonbury, with some flexibility for hybrid working.

Salary Range: £23,000-£29,000

Are you passionate about football and committed to ensuring the smooth operation of football services while upholding discipline and regulations and running county cup competitions? Somerset Football Association is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Football Officer.

As part of the role you will;

Support The FA National Game Strategy and Somerset FA Business Strategy:

• Contributing to the growth and development of football at the grassroots level.

Lead on Football Discipline and Regulation:

• Overseeing discipline processes and ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Process yellow and red cards
• Issue misconduct charges.
• Arrange disciplinary panels.
• Act as a secretary of disciplinary panels (this will require out of hours work)

Mange County Cup Competitions

• Manage, develop, promote and administer all County Cup competitions including the planning of all finals.
• Make the draws for County Cup competitions.
• Work with the SFA Cups Committee

Implement Safeguarding Operating Standard:

• Contributing to the implementation of The FA’s Safeguarding Operating Standard for County FAs.
• Ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants in grassroots football.

Support the adoption of FA Technology Systems:

• Supporting the integration and adoption of FA technology systems.
• Enhancing the use of technology to improve services across grassroots football.

Comply with FA Rules and Regulations:

• Ensuring strict adherence to FA rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidance.

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience in football administration, governance, or related fields.
• Knowledge of FA rules, regulations, and discipline procedures.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Familiarity with technology systems in football administration is a plus.
• Flexibility on hours for both evening and weekend work.
• Own transport and Driving license.

Disciplinary hearings, where the incumbent will be expected to act as secretary, will take place out of normal office hours along with other activities, will take place “out of hours”; the successful candidate must be flexible to meet those needs. Time off in Lieu will be given for all out of hours activities.
