Stores Person – FLT Driver

Location – Hinckley

Salary – £31,500 per annum

Metalis are working in partnership with an aerospace engineering company in Hinckley who due to continuous growth are looking to hire a highly motivated and detail-oriented Stores Person. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of their supply chain, ensuring that incoming goods are received, inspected and stored efficiently.

This role is an Afternoon shift 15:00pm – 01:00am Monday to Thursday, however there will be training for up to 2 months on the Morning shift – 06:45am -15:00pm Monday to Thursday and 06:45am-14:00pm Friday.

Job Duties:

  • Receive and inspect incoming goods, verifying accuracy against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Organise and store goods in designated locations within the warehouse or storage area.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and report any discrepancies or issues to the relevant departments.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to coordinate the timely delivery of goods and ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Prepare and pack goods for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and adherence to shipping guidelines.
  • Assist in conducting regular stock counts and participate in periodic audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Keep the storage area clean, organised, and in compliance with safety regulations.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience operating a forklift.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and operate material handling equipment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Salary & Hours:

Training on days £25,500 per annum, once moved to afternoon shift – £31,500 per annum

Day shift (During training) –

06:45am -15:00pm Monday to Thursday and 06:45am-14:00pm Friday

Afternoon shift (After completion of training) –

15:00pm – 01:00am Monday to Thursday
