Uppingham, Leicestershire
Uppingham School
Whether you are an ECT, or an experienced teacher, this position offers an exciting opportunity to join one of the leading schools in the UK with the highest ambitions for science education.
This position would also suit a recent graduate looking to train and qualify as a teacher whilst working.
A graduate trainee would gain experience in a well-resourced department, working with a team of committed specialists. A training year would involve completing a University of Buckingham PGCE leading to QTS at the end of the year whilst teaching a suitably reduced timetable. A trainee teacher would have full responsibility for their own classes during the year, guided by their mentor, and would also undertake teaching placements in a different school setting.
You will be working with six specialist Chemistry teachers, working in a highly collegiate faculty of fifteen teachers, supported by a superb technical team. The Science faculty is well-funded and particularly well-resourced, but new initiatives and experience are welcomed.
If you share our aspirations for Uppingham to be the national centre for excellence in science
education in the United Kingdom we would be delighted to hear from you.
