Job purpose:
We are looking for enthusiastic Technical Engineers to work as part of our PD Service team, applying MV/ HV asset condition monitoring techniques to help our customers operate safer, stronger and more reliable networks. This role involves delivering service projects, utilising market leading partial discharge detection instruments as well as various complimentary electrical testing techniques, at customer sites around the UK and overseas.
For the more experienced/ senior technical engineers, you will have the opportunity to develop and apply a detailed understanding of condition assessment theory and interpretation required to support future development of our products and services, keeping us at the forefront of condition monitoring.
About the role:
– To become authorised to undertake High Voltage (HV) testing (e.g. cable mapping, Vacuum Interrupter testing, transformer testing, rotating plant)
– Service work in Asset Diagnostics including condition assessment of substation plant, partial discharge surveys; monitor installations, calibration, data analysis etc.
– Reporting on findings and adding technical insight to best support our customers
– Along with the rest of the team, proactively develop our asset condition data analysis techniques
– General service support across the team / company
– Role will be split between office and regular offsite work
– Occasional overseas/ offshore working (additional allowances apply)
For the more experienced/ senior Technical Engineer, this will also include:
– Introduction of new Asset Diagnostic techniques to compliment current offerings
– Develop and deliver internal training
– Proactively seek to improve analytical processes, increasing customer value
What we’ll need from you:
– HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent HND/ relevant degree level an advantage but not essential
– Electrical background essential e.g. time served Electrician
– Knowledge of Condition Assessment MV/ HV electricity distribution / transmission assets
– Previous experience of HV testing/ diagnostics/ maintenance would be an advantage
– Strong analytical skills
– Attention to detail and Health and Safety
– Inquisitive approach to problem solving
– Willing to occasionally work overseas/ offshore (previous experience an advantage)
– Valid passport and full UK driving licence with the flexibility to travel to client sites
Salary, benefits & perks:
– £35,000 – £45,000 DOE per annum
