20 hours per week (Ideally 4 hours per day – flexible)

My client, a well established and professional business based in Brentwood, is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join them initially on a temporary basis which could lead to a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.

Supporting the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for:

• Checking 6 bank accounts for movement, posting cash received and payments made into Sage 200
• Entering exchange rates into bespoke software
• Updating cashbooks in Ms Excel
• Reconciling bank accounts
• Updating cashflows
• Checking any statements from email against Sage
• Requesting copies of any missing invoices
• Saving remittance advices
• Uploading purchase invoices
• Processing any purchase invoices into Sage and updating spreadsheet
• Checking value for stock invoices
• Updating sales ledger daybook in Ms Excel
• Selecting relevant sales for invoice finance and uploading to bank
• Uploading sales invoices into sage and ensuring balances agree
• Completing payment runs
• Chasing customers for payment
• Reconciling invoice finance debtors accounts GBP/EUR/USD
• Checking VAT transactions in Sage ready for VAT return
• Providing administrative support to other departments as required including logistics and sales

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of Sage 200
• A flexible approach and willingness to learn
