About the School:
This is a great school in North London, (Barnet borough), with good transport links and also a small car park. The school has made very good progress in recent years and this is down to the determination and dedication of the Headteacher, his leadership team and of the staff throughout the school.
They have a creative curriculum, which is topic based and where possible, all activities and lessons will be linked to the topic.
The school is well resourced and they benefit from supportive parents.
The school is seeking a Year 5 teacher to start in September 2020, for at least one academic year, until July 2021. You will be joining a very stable team in Year 5, with both teachers having been at the school for a few years. The class is motivated to learn and love a challenge! They are a creative group and work well together. Attainment levels in the class are generally high and there are two children who are in class part-time and also work in a SEND base attached to the school, with a SEND Teaching Assistant. There may be the opportunity to mentor a university teaching student later on in the academic year and if this happens there may be a TLR point available for a teacher with suitable experience who can mentor both students and NQTs. The role will come with all of the usual responsibilities of a class teacher, including planning, assessment, marking, parent consultation evenings etc. A positive, patient approach is essential. The school is open to appointing a newly qualified teacher (NQT) or an experienced teacher.
